2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 MultiGigabit Media Converter for Automotive Ethernet2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 MultiGigabit Media Converter for Automotive Ethernet
Intrepid’s MultiGigabit Media Converter RAD-Moon 3 is the latest Ethernet Media Converter for 2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 MultiGigabit Automotive Ethernet applications. The RAD-Moon 3 converts the Ethernet physical layer from MultiGBASE-T1 to MultiGBASE-T. This is needed to directly connect a PC equipped with the standard 8-wire Ethernet to an automo tiveECU or Switch which use the 2-wire version of Ethernet specific to In-Vehicle Networks. (IVNs)
Key Features
- 2.5/5/10GBASE-T1 (10GBASE-T1 support is not fully validated on revision 1 hardware) physical layer using the Marvell MV-Q3244 PHY**
- Compliant with OPEN Alliance’s TC10 Automotive Ethernet Sleep/Wake-up requirements
- Designed for use with the MACsec Automotive Profile of OPEN Alliance’s TC17
- Intuitive LED indicators
- PHY configuration, link status, and
network activity - Bar graph display of MultiGBASE-T1 Signal Quality Indicator (SQI) in real-time
- PHY configuration, link status, and
- Membrane buttons allowing device configuration without software
- Switch between 2.5G, 5G, and 10G link speeds
- Select the MultiGBASE-T1 PHY clock configuration
- Uses the H-MTD connection system designed for MultiGBASE-T1
- 6-40V power range, compatible with in-vehicle power from barrel jack.
- Ruggedized USB Type-C connector for device configuration and firmware updates
- PHY register access over USB using Vehicle Spy or Intrepid’s Open Source API allowing PHY status and configuration, as well as TC10 and MACsec related operations
The RAD-Moon 3 provides a small but rugged enclosure perfect for carrying in your laptop bag.
Using the RAD-Moon 3 as a 2.5GBASE-T1 to 2.5GBASE-T converter or 5GBASE-T1 to 5GBASE-T converter or 10GBASE-T1 to 10GBASE-T converter.
Connecting a PC directly to an automotive ECU using the RAD-Moon 3 is useful for simulating other vehicle nodes, performing direct diagnostics, or ECU reflashing.
The registers of the MultiGBASE-T1 PHY can be accessed for direct control and monitoring of its operation, as well as enable test and diagnostic modes.*
